The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) has a tariff system for calculating the compensation award for different type of injuries you sustained as a result of a violent crime. We have designed this CICA claim calculator to help you get a closest estimation for the potential award for criminal injury compensation, victim support compensation, sexual assault compensation, child abuse and historical abuse compensation claim. You can click on the injuries you suffered to see the approximate value for your potential award.
Please note that for multiple physical injuries only the three highest value are included in the compensation calculation with the two lower value injuries receiving a reduced tariff. We recommend that medical treatment is sought where possible/necessary, especially in instances where abuse has caused psychological injury. Conditions such as depression, anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder are all common injuries that occur as a result of sexual abuse or assault.
